Ippon-Ken Karate Academy Dominates the 2026 Uganda Karate Kids Tournament

KAMPALA, UGANDA — Youth martial arts took center stage on Saturday, July 25, 2026, as talented young karateka from across the nation gathered for the highly anticipated 2026 Uganda Karate Kids Tournament.
Organized under the authority of the Uganda Karate Federation (UKF), the action-packed tournament provided a vital national platform for developing martial artists to demonstrate their skills in both Kata (forms) and Kumite (sparring) under World Karate Federation (WKF) officiating standards.
Across division encounters ranging from foundational Under 5 categories to high intensity Cadets and Juniors, the competition showcased exceptional technical growth across all clubs.
In the overall team standings, Ippon-Ken Karate Academy secured the top position, leading the event with 8 Gold, 9 Silver, and 19 Bronze medals. Luzira Goju-Kai Karate Club earned second place, posting an outstanding gold-conversion rate with 5 Gold, 3 Silver, and 2 Bronze medals while particularly dominating the upper age divisions. Rounding out the top three leadership board, Tigers Shotokan Karate-Do delivered a powerful showing across the male divisions to claim third place with 3 Gold, 4 Silver, and 4 Bronze medals.
